There is often a focus on creative products on this site
I want to share with you how play and movement can be used in educational work and various activities. We know that children are their bodies and learn through their bodies.
Research shows a connection between children's motor development and i.a. social competence, language, reading and writing skills, concentration and self-perception/self-esteem.
You can see the activity "Teddy bear hide and seek" here:
it focuses on language development, concept learning, simple orientation, coordination, counting, spatial orientation, colors and social competence.
We have taken pictures of and laminated popular teddy bears that we have in the department with 2018 children. Then they could choose a picture of a teddy bear to look for. Either it was an adult or other children who hid the teddy bear. We counted to 20 and then the children had to run, limp, climb over, crawl under, balance or jump on the road. We used words like above, below, behind, in front of, between or next to as we searched. The teddy bears were hidden under various colorful bricks, carpets, behind modules or under furniture. This activity went on for a long time, and the children took turns which teddy bear they wanted to hide and look for.
