This year's main theme for us is "climate and environment", and this year's National Kindergarten Day has the same focus. When we work creatively towards kindergarten day, all children are involved, regardless of age.
So with environmental glasses on, we wanted to create a product that shows the value of "rubbish". The waste we have most of is cardboard and cardboard. How to show the children that this can be useful in creative work?
We started in January with the biggest ones. Then it was "number, space and shape" that was the subject of the month, and we made houses out of cardboard boxes. Then it was both about reuse and the three-dimensionality of mathematics. In addition, skilled worker Marthe made a large cardboard box house that the children could play inside.
This month the subject area is "Art, culture and creativity", and we are still in climate and environment mode. When we had to involve the little ones and do a joint creative project for Kindergarten Day, we therefore had to choose "simple". A number of milk cartons were washed and sanded, then painted, and the milk caps were used as wheels; and why?? There were nine nice buses, at Karius and Baktus Trafikkstasjon. All the children have painted each with two coats of paint, and at the traffic station terminal there is a picture of all the drivers. Prime boxes became bus sheds, and playmo figures are there waiting passengers. Creative chaos during the winter holiday week resulted in a lovely final product, which cost nothing, apart from a few kroner for paint!
