The seagulls have acquired new concepts from life

This month we have had "Life on the shore" as our theme with the little ones. Fantastic days for young and old. The young seagulls have acquired new concepts from life on the shore.

It's not about age..it's about time. As a test project over a couple of weeks with "life on the shore", the children got to know some of the animals that live there through their club. 
The process started with pictures and short film clips. The next day we went for a walk to the stand. Here we found starfish, beach crab, sea urchin, eel, various shells, school pen, kelp sprell, etc. The aim was to collect various species that live in the shore. Some were taken to the nursery, but we took pictures of the live animals and carefully put them back. Back in the nursery, we made a wall poster with pictures and some of the things we found. 
As an end to "life on the shore", we went on another trip to the beach. We made cheese sandwiches on a fire and talked about who lives on the shore. The project has been a great joy for everyone, the children have shown great interest and talk a lot about what they have seen, heard and experienced. 
Some of the goals we achieved from the framework plan are: "The children should be able to experience and explore nature and its diversity. The children should have good experiences with outdoor life all year round. The children should gain knowledge about animals and wildlife. The nursery school should make it possible for the children to get a variety of nature experiences and get to experience nature as an arena for play and learning."
