Today we walked in the northern lights
Today we walked in the northern lights, and listened to a joik performed by Mari Boine. As one of the children said: joik sondre, that's the Sami song!
In Sami, the northern lights are called "Guovssahas" which means, the audible light.
The Sami believed it was the souls of the dead. They didn't talk about the northern lights, but showed it great respect.
The most common colors of the northern lights are green, red and blue.
