Snails!
Leftover fruit and vegetables? We have made new friends who have moved into our nursery. Achatina achatina, the world's largest land snail.
The snails live in an aquarium with soil and roots and eat the remains of fruit (citrus) and greens. They are not slimy, nice to hold and feed them in your hand or on a plate on the floor. There were many who thought "ugh!", but the children thought it was fun!!
