A kind of multifunctional birthday calendar ??
Unfortunately I don't have a photo, but I have tried to make an ok sketch. - The children's pictures (+names and dates) are pasted on paper in different colours.
- The colors indicate seasons (blue - winter, green - spring, yellow - summer, orange - autumn). The seasons are also decorated with respective symbols (autumn leaves, snowflakes, ladybugs, flowers, etc.) ??????
- It is also possible to include holidays (Norwegian flag for 17 May, Christmas tree, fireworks at New Year's etc.)??????
- The pointer points to the birthday child.????
We have many children in our ward so we had to have 2 rows of the circles, but that was no problem?? It was easy to place it on the wall thanks to a homemade fit (string taped to the wall??). It also helped to start with the circles located at 12, 3, 6 and 9, and use teacher's chewing gum because then it was easier to move things.
I really want to share this idea, not (just??) because I'm quite proud of it, but because it might inspire someone and not least because the kids loved it! What I liked best was that it made it easier for me to talk to the children about the fact that the calendar year is not the same as the school year. Or about not being the oldest even if your birthday isn't until after the summer holidays :)
We used it for several years, just replaced some pictures :)
