Decorative snowballs
The oldest children aged 4 and up in our nursery have spent some of the pre-Christmas period making decorative snowballs.
They first used string with glue, and then glue on balloons.
When the glue was dry, the thread became stiff so I could then remove the balloon on the inside. Finally, they got glue on the eyes and the snowman's nose so that it became a face! I think they turned out really beautiful and left us impressed with the result.
The activity has really brought out the children's creativity. They have done so 100% and almost completely without help from an adult. Incredibly fun!
