Dream catchers made by 4-6 year olds
Here they have wrapped twine around a cardboard plate (they have done this by using two shapes and drawn around them themselves and then cut along the line.
They made and then lashed yarn) - and then worked very co-centredly on getting small beads on a thin string. Many of the children also learned a new skill - which is to make a loop around the bead to make it hang on the thread so that they eventually get a long thread of pearls. Here they get to work properly with their fine motor skills. The only thing I have helped with is tying the threads together and guiding them - they have done everything themselves.
Incredibly fun and exciting project, many proud children (and not least adults).
