Teddy bear hospital with mathematics

Teddy bear hospital with mathematics

We split into groups, so that some went to the doctor and were given a diagnosis, stitched up, bandaged, given injections, plasters etc.

Another group received a medical card based on illness. Then they had to roll dice and find out how many of each medicine they needed. The children were tasked with finding out how to write the number, some wrote numbers, some dashes, some dots. Then it was to find the correct number of medicines based on what they had written. We adjusted the difficulty level so that some medicines you had to actually build, others were to collect duplo bricks as shown on the medicine picture.

Last year we had this out, then they were pine cones, yellow leaves, red leaves, sticks, stones, moss etc. on the medicine card. The medicine cards are laminated and we wrote with a whiteboard pen, so we can use them several times.
