Teddy bear hospital in the forest

In connection with the international teddy bear day tomorrow, we have had a teddy bear hospital in the forest. The children brought a teddy bear each, and were told how their teddy bear had injured itself or what kind of illness it had. Children and adults helped each other and bandaged the teddy bears' feet, tails, heads and bellies. Afterwards, the children each received their medical form with three things we find in the forest. They had to roll dice to find out how many of each thing they had to give as medicine. The children then found out how to write the number themselves. Most people solved this with dots, but there were also lines and circles. Then they had to go out and look for medicine, double check against the medicine form that the number was correct, and then the teddies had to eat medicine. Then it was on again with new ailments, more bandages and more medical forms... Easy way to use mathematics in nature in play.
