We are cleaning for spring!

We are cleaning for spring!

Now that the snow is disappearing, the trash is coming out. Now is a great time to take the kids on a scavenger hunt. Talk to the children before you go.

About why it is important not to throw rubbish on the ground, what can happen if animals get plastic in their stomachs, etc. Create good conversations about plastic in nature, that plastic can take up to hundreds of years before they break down and disappear , that it harms birds and animals in the sea. Children have a strong bond with nature, and they come up with many good reflections, questions and thoughts. Don't scare them with overwhelming and frightening facts about climate, rather make them aware that we have a responsibility to keep our earth clean and litter-free in nature, and that we can make a big difference by picking up. In this way, the children feel that they have made an effort to take care of our earth, which in turn will give them a positive attitude towards sustainable development. Make it a nice and enjoyable activity that adds value to them. The children will feel a stronger connection to nature when they help it. I often say that the earth gets sick from time to time, in the same way that we get sick, and then they can help make her healthy by small measures (such as picking up rubbish). They get very involved and say they want to help the earth as best they can by keeping it clean and healthy. After all, we are working with future citizens and we think it is important to make them aware that litter damages the sea, animals and nature. Now it is SOON 17 May and then we can tell the children that we are going to clean for Norway's birthday! They will feel both mastery and joy and will form a positive and healthy view of sustainability, the climate and the environment! sustainable development is a relatively new goal in the framework plan, so here we make use of it. So take the children on a scavenger hunt, and save the world a little!
