THE JOY IS

When you, like me, have had a week's holiday and a little tired shows up for work again and think "oh, that would have been lovely to have another day off…just one…” then joy comes rushing towards me on legs that are barely 4 years old and shouts: "Hey, there you are! I've been waiting - I picked pine cones for you yesterday!” Then he takes me by the hand - he wants to find the treasure he has saved: "it is for you!" he says, and my heart warms: think, the joy, it has gone and thought of me! Then all thoughts of a day off fade away, for who would not rather have much a 4-year-old joy with a pine cone he saved so that I would be happy. Kari Nyberg, 17/9-20
