One afternoon, after the kindergarten was closed
There were two excited boys (2 1/2 years and almost 3) from Blåbærtoppen, Frikult kindergarten, who met outside the department.
They had a sleeping bag, a teddy bear and a toothbrush with them.
They had been waiting a long time for this!
Overnight in a cabin in the forest without mum and dad. Tremendously exciting!
After saying "hate" and "good night" and sending mum and dad home, we set off towards the forest.
The road was familiar, easy and safe, because they had walked here many times before.
The boys were at play as soon as they came out into the forest. They know the area around the lavvo well. They have cabins and houses under trees, buses and trains on stumps and trunks, they climb, collect things they find and wonder and study.
When the adults had put the floor and reindeer skins in place in the lavvo, it was time for some supper. Fish cake burger cooked on a fire is delicious!
Full, satisfied and a little tired, we went into the bedroom and found the sleeping bags.
Inside the lavvo it was nice and warm. The wood crackled in the stove. The boys chatted and laughed. And after a little walking chocolate and some teeth brushing, they were ready for the night.
To experience the joy, to see the smiles on the satisfied faces the next morning, is priceless!
We cooked oatmeal and ate before packing up our things and going back to the nursery house. There the other children and adults waited anxiously to hear about our trip.
This experience will take the boys, and us adults who were lucky enough to be a part of it, with us for the rest of our lives!
